ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ (Gurmukhi)
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
soraTh mahalaa panjavaa ||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਦੁਖੀ ॥
jaa kai simaran hoi ana(n)dhaa binasai janam maran bhai dhukhee ||
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖੀ ॥੧॥
chaar padhaarath nav nidh paaveh bahur na tirasanaa bhukhee ||1||
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਤੂ ਸੁਖੀ ॥
jaa ko naam lait too sukhee ||
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਉ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਜੀਅਰੇ ਮੁਖੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saas saas dhiaavahu Thaakur kau man tan jeeare mukhee ||1|| rahaau ||
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮਨ ਸੀਤਲ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧੁਖੀ ॥
saa(n)t paaveh hoveh man seetal agan na a(n)tar dhukhee ||
ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਰੁਖੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੦॥
gur naanak kau prabhoo dhikhaiaa jal thal tirabhavan rukhee ||2||2||30||
English Translation
Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:
Meditating on Him, one is in ecstasy; the pains of birth and death and fear are removed.
The four cardinal blessings, and the nine treasures are received; you shall never feel hunger or thirst again. ||1||
Chanting His Name, you shall be at peace.
With each and every breath, meditate on the Lord and Master, O my soul, with mind, body and mouth. ||1||Pause||
You shall find peace, and your mind shall be soothed and cooled; the fire of desire shall not burn within you.
The Guru has revealed God to Nanak, in the three worlds, in the water, the earth and the woods. ||2||2||30||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ-ਭਰਿਆ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤੂੰ (ਧਰਮ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਖ) ਚਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਭੁੱਖ ਫਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪੇਗੀ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ) ।੧।
ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਉਸ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੋ ਤਨੋ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਏਂਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਅੰਤਰ-ਆਤਮੇ ਠੰਢਾ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਧੁਖੇਗੀ ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੨।੩੦।
