ਗੋਂਡ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
go(n)dd mahalaa panjavaa ||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
gur kee moorat man meh dhiaan ||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨ ॥
gur kai sabadh ma(n)tr man maan ||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਲੈ ਧਾਰਉ ॥
gur ke charan ridhai lai dhaarau ||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਉ ॥੧॥
gur paarabraham sadhaa namasakaarau ||1||
ਮਤ ਕੋ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
mat ko bharam bhulai sa(n)saar ||
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur bin koi na utaras paar ||1|| rahaau ||
ਭੂਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
bhoole kau gur maarag paiaa ||
ਅਵਰ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
avar tiaag har bhagatee laiaa ||
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
janam maran kee traas miTaiee ||
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਵਡਾਈ ॥੨॥
gur poore kee bea(n)t vaddaiee ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਊਰਧ ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸ ॥
gur prasaadh uooradh kamal bigaas ||
ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ॥
a(n)dhakaar meh bhiaa pragaas ||
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਸੋ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
jin keeaa so gur te jaaniaa ||
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਮੁਗਧ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥
gur kirapaa te mugadh man maaniaa ||3||
ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਣੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
gur karataa gur karanai jog ||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਗੁ ॥
gur paramesar hai bhee hog ||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਇਹੈ ਜਨਾਈ ॥
kahu naanak prabh ihai janaiee ||
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ॥੪॥੫॥੭॥
bin gur mukat na paieeaai bhaiee ||4||5||7||
English Translation
Gond, Fifth Mehla:
Meditate on the image of the Guru within your mind;
let your mind accept the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and His Mantra.
Enshrine the Guru's feet within your heart.
Bow in humility forever before the Guru, the Supreme Lord God. ||1||
Let no one wander in doubt in the world.
Without the Guru, no one can cross over. ||1||Pause||
The Guru shows the Path to those who have wandered off.
He leads them to renounce others, and attaches them to devotional worship of the Lord.
He obliterates the fear of birth and death.
The glorious greatness of the Perfect Guru is endless. ||2||
By Guru's Grace, the inverted heart-lotus blossoms forth,
and the Light shines forth in the darkness.
Through the Guru, know the One who created you.
By the Guru's Mercy, the foolish mind comes to believe. ||3||
The Guru is the Creator; the Guru has the power to do everything.
The Guru is the Transcendent Lord; He is, and always shall be.
Says Nanak, God has inspired me to know this.
Without the Guru, liberation is not obtained, O Siblings of Destiny. ||4||5||7||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਗੋਂਡ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਹੈ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਇਸ) ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦਾ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ (ਸਭ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ) ਮੰਨ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।
(ਤਾਹੀਏਂ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ (ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ) ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਏ,
ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕੇਗਾ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ) ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ (ਸਦਾ) ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਹੋਰ (ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ) ਛਡਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ
(ਤੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲ) ਉਲਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕੌਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਤ ਕੇ) ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ (ਸਹੀ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ।
ਇਹ) ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨਾ) ਗਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਗੁਰੂ (ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ-ਸੁਰ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੈ ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਜੋ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸੀ) ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹੇਗਾ ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ,
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ।੪।੫।੭।
