ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ੫ ॥
dhevaga(n)dhaaree 5 ||
ਦਰਸਨ ਨਾਮ ਕਉ ਮਨੁ ਆਛੈ ॥
dharasan naam kau man aachhai ||
ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਓ ਹੈ ਸਗਲ ਥਾਨ ਰੇ ਆਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਛੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhram aaio hai sagal thaan re aaeh pario sa(n)t paachhai ||1|| rahaau ||
ਕਿਸੁ ਹਉ ਸੇਵੀ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਰਾਧੀ ਜੋ ਦਿਸਟੈ ਸੋ ਗਾਛੈ ॥
kis hau sevee kis aaraadhee jo dhisaTai so gaachhai ||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਰੀਐ ਚਰਣ ਰੇਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਬਾਛੈ ॥੧॥
saadhasa(n)gat kee saranee pareeaai charan ren man baachhai ||1||
ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਗੁਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਮਾਇ ਆਛੈ ॥
jugat na jaanaa gun nahee koiee mahaa dhutar mai aachhai ||
ਆਇ ਪਇਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਤਉ ਉਤਰੀ ਸਗਲ ਦੁਰਾਛੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੮॥
aai pio naanak gur charanee tau utaree sagal dhuraachhai ||2||2||28||
English Translation
Dayv-Gandhaaree, Fifth Mehla:
My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, and His Name.
I have wandered everywhere, and now I have come to follow the Saint. ||1||Pause||
Whom should I serve? Whom should I worship in adoration? Whoever I see shall pass away.
I have sought the Sanctuary of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; my mind longs for the dust of their Feet. ||1||
I do not know the way, and I have no virtue. It is so difficult to escape from Maya!
Nanak has come and fallen at the Guru's feet; all of his evil inclinations have vanished. ||2||2||28||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਦੇਵ ਗੰਧਾਰੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤਾਂਘਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਹੋ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਾਂ?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ । ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ (ਐਸਾ) ਗੁਣ (ਭੀ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਾਂ) ।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ।
