ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੩
jaitasaree mahalaa panjavaa ghar teejaa
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||
ਕੋਈ ਜਾਨੈ ਕਵਨੁ ਈਹਾ ਜਗਿ ਮੀਤੁ ॥
koiee jaanai kavan ieehaa jag meet ||
ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸੋਈ ਬਿਧਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis hoi kirapaal soiee bidh boojhai taa kee niramal reet ||1|| rahaau ||
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਇਸਟ ਮੀਤ ਅਰੁ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਪੂਰਬ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਅੰਤਹਿ ਕੋ ਨ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥
maat pitaa banitaa sut ba(n)dhap isaT meet ar bhaiee || poorab janam ke mile sa(n)jogee a(n)teh ko na sahaiee ||1||
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਮਾਲ ਕਨਿਕ ਲਾਲ ਹੀਰਾ ਮਨ ਰੰਜਨ ਕੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
mukat maal kanik laal heeraa man ra(n)jan kee maiaa ||
ਹਾ ਹਾ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਅਵਧਹਿ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
haa haa karat bihaanee avadheh taa meh sa(n)tokh na paiaa ||2||
ਹਸਤਿ ਰਥ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਪਵਨ ਤੇਜ ਧਣੀ ਭੂਮਨ ਚਤੁਰਾਂਗਾ ॥
hasat rath asavai pavan tej dhanee bhooman chaturaa(n)gaa ||
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਿਓ ਇਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਛੂਐ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਇਓ ਨਾਂਗਾ ॥੩॥
sa(n)g na chaalio in meh kachhooaai uooTh sidhaio naa(n)gaa ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
har ke sa(n)t pria preetam prabh ke taa kai har har gaieeaai ||
ਨਾਨਕ ਈਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੧॥
naanak ieehaa sukh aagai mukh uoojal sa(n)g sa(n)tan kai paieeaai ||4||1||
English Translation
Jaitsree, Fifth Mehla, Third House:
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
Does anyone know, who is our friend in this world?
He alone understands this, whom the Lord blesses with His Mercy. Immaculate and unstained is his way of life. ||1||Pause||
Mother, father, spouse, children, relatives, lovers, friends and siblings meet, having been associated in previous lives; but none of them will be your companion and support in the end. ||1||
Pearl necklaces, gold, rubies and diamonds please the mind, but they are only Maya.
Possessing them, one passes his life in agony; he obtains no contentment from them. ||2||
Elephants, chariots, horses as fast as the wind, wealth, land, and armies of four kinds
- none of these will go with him; he must get up and depart, naked. ||3||
The Lord's Saints are the beloved lovers of God; sing of the Lord, Har, Har, with them.
O Nanak, in the Society of the Saints, you shall obtain peace in this world, and in the next world, your face shall be radiant and bright. ||4||1||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਉਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ) ਇਥੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਅਸਲੀ) ਮਿੱਤਰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ।
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਫਿਰ) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨਿ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ, ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ—ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਜੋਗਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ (ਇਥੇ) ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਹਨ । ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੋਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਾ, ਸੋਨਾ, ਲਾਲ, ਹੀਰੇ, ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਲੱਗਿਆਂ) ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ‘ਹਾਇ, ਹਾਇ’ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਜਦਾ ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਾਥੀ, ਰਥ, ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਵੇਗ ਵਰਗੇ ਘੋੜੇ (ਹੋਣ), ਧਨਾਢ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਵੇ, ਚਾਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਵੇ
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਭੀ) ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਭੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਥੋਂ) ਨੰਗਾ ਹੀ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ
ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ।
