ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ (Gurmukhi)
ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥
salok mahalaa teejaa ||
ਮਨਹਠਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਭ ਥਕੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
manahaTh kinai na paio sabh thake karam kamai ||
ਮਨਹਠਿ ਭੇਖ ਕਰਿ ਭਰਮਦੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
manahaTh bhekh kar bharamadhe dhukh paiaa dhoojai bhai ||
ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
ridh sidh sabh moh hai naam na vasai man aai ||
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
gur sevaa te man niramal hovai agiaan a(n)dheraa jai ||
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਘਰਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
naam ratan ghar paragaT hoaa naanak sahaj samai ||1||
English Translation
Shalok, Third Mehla:
No one has ever found the Lord through stubborn-mindedness. All have grown weary of performing such actions.
Through their stubborn-mindedness, and by wearing their disguises, they are deluded; they suffer in pain from the love of duality.
Riches and the supernatural spiritual powers of the Siddhas are all emotional attachments; through them, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, does not come to dwell in the mind.
Serving the Guru, the mind becomes immaculately pure, and the darkness of spiritual ignorance is dispelled.
The jewel of the Naam is revealed in the home of one's own being; O Nanak, one merges in celestial bliss. ||1||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਸਲੋਕ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਹਠ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ (ਭਾਵ, ਕਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ) (ਹਠ ਨਾਲ) ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਓੜਕ) ਥੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ;
ਮਨ ਦੇ ਹਠ ਨਾਲ (ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਭੇਖ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
ਰਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ (ਭੀ) ਨਿਰੋਲ ਮੋਹ (ਰੂਪ) ਹਨ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸ ਸਕਦਾ ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੰੁਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਗਿਆਨ (ਰੂਪ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੰੁਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ (ਰੂਪ) ਰਤਨ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਹਿਜ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ (ਭਾਵ ਸੁਤੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
