ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਙੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਙੁ ਮਜੀਠੈ ਰੰਙੁ ॥
har naamaa har ra(n)n(g) hai har ra(n)n(g) majeeThai ra(n)n(g) ||
ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਚਾੜਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਭੰਙੁ ॥੧॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਕਰਿ ਰੰਙੁ ॥

ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਹਰਿ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਰਾਉ ਨਿਸੰਙੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਮੁੰਧ ਇਆਣੀ ਮਨਮੁਖੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਅੰਙੁ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਸਹਲੰਙੁ ॥੨॥

ਹਮ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰੇ ਦੁਹਚਾਰੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਅੰਗੀ ਅੰਙੁ ॥

ਗੁਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰਿ ਨਵਲਾਇਆ ਸਭਿ ਲਾਥੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਪੰਙੁ ॥੩॥
gur a(n)mirat sar navalaiaa sabh laathe kilavikh pa(n)n(g) ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਦੀਨਾ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੰਙੁ ॥
har dheenaa dheen dhiaal prabh satasa(n)gat melahu sa(n)n(g) ||
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰੰਙੁ ॥੪॥੩॥
mil sa(n)gat har ra(n)g paiaa jan naanak man tan ra(n)n(g) ||4||3||
English Translation
Soohee, Fourth Mehla:
The Lord's Name is the Love of the Lord. The Lord's Love is the permanent color.
When the Guru is totally satisfied and pleased, He colors us with the Lord's Love; this color shall never fade away. ||1||
O my mind, enshrine love for the Name of the Lord.
The Guru, satisfied and pleased, taught me about the Lord, and my Sovereign Lord King met with me at once. ||1||Pause||
The self-willed manmukh is like the ignorant bride, who comes and goes again and again in reincarnation.
The Lord God does not come into her consciousness, and her mind is stuck in the love of duality. ||2||
I am full of filth, and I practice evil deeds; O Lord, save me, be with me, merge me into Your Being!
The Guru has bathed me in the pool of Ambrosial Nectar, and all my dirty sins and mistakes have been washed away. ||3||
O Lord God, Merciful to the meek and the poor, please unite me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.
Joining the Sangat, servant Nanak has obtained the Lord's Love; my mind and body are drenched in it. ||4||3||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਸੂਹੀ ਚੌਥੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਲ-ਪਿਆਰ ਮਜੀਠ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਰਗਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਜੇ (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਤੱੁ੍ਰਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਰੰਗ (ਪਿਆਰ) ਦਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ।੧।
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਜੋੜ ।
ਜੇ (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੀ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਉਸ (ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਹੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮੀ ਹਾਂ । ਹੇ ਅੰਗ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ, ਸਾਡੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰ ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਿੱਕੜ ਧੁਪ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
ਹੇ ਅੱਤ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਿਲਾ ।
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ (ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੪।੩।
