ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥
salok mahalaa teejaa ||
ਜਗਤੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਧੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
jagat agiaanee a(n)dh hai dhoojai bhai karam kamai ||
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਜੇਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਗੈ ਤਨਿ ਧਾਇ ॥
dhoojai bhai jete karam kare dhukh lagai tan dhai ||
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਜਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
gur parasaadhee sukh uoopajai jaa gur kaa sabadh kamai ||
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
sachee baanee karam kare anadhin naam dhiaai ||
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਲਾਏ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਗੇ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
naanak jit aape laae tit lage kahanaa kichhoo na jai ||1||

ਹਮ ਘਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
ham ghar naam khajaanaa sadhaa hai bhagat bhare bha(n)ddaaraa ||
ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਸਦ ਜੀਵੈ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
satagur dhaataa jeea kaa sadh jeevai dhevanahaaraa ||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
anadhin keeratan sadhaa kareh gur kai sabadh apaaraa ||
ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਸਦ ਉਚਰਹਿ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਵਰਤਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
sabadh guroo kaa sadh uchareh jug jug varataavanahaaraa ||
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਸੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਕਰੇ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ॥
eih manooaa sadhaa sukh vasai sahaje kare vaapaaraa ||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਹੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
a(n)tar gur giaan har ratan hai mukat karaavanahaaraa ||
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ਸੋ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਰਿ ਸਚਿਆਰਾ ॥੨॥
naanak jis no nadhar kare so paae so hovai dhar sachiaaraa ||2||

ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਜਾਇ ਪਇਆ ॥
dha(n)n dha(n)n so gursikh kaheeaai jo satigur charanee jai piaa ||
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਕਹਿਆ ॥
dha(n)n dha(n)n so gursikh kaheeaai jin har naamaa mukh raam kahiaa ||
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਣਿਐ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
dha(n)n dha(n)n so gursikh kaheeaai jis har naam suniaai man anadh bhiaa ||
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਇਆ ॥
dha(n)n dha(n)n so gursikh kaheeaai jin satigur sevaa kar har naam liaa ||
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਕੰਉ ਹੰਉ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਚਲਿਆ ॥੧੮॥
tis gursikh ka(n)au ha(n)au sadhaa namasakaaree jo gur kai bhaanai gursikh chaliaa ||18||
English Translation
Shalok, Third Mehla:
The world is blind and ignorant; in the love of duality, it engages in actions.
But those actions which are performed in the love of duality, cause only pain to the body.
By Guru's Grace, peace wells up, when one acts according to the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
He acts according to the True Word of the Guru's Bani; night and day, he meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
O Nanak, as the Lord Himself engages him, so is he engaged; no one has any say in this matter. ||1||
Third Mehla:
Within the home of my own being, is the everlasting treasure of the Naam; it is a treasure house, overflowing with devotion.
The True Guru is the Giver of the life of the soul; the Great Giver lives forever.
Night and day, I continually sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praise, through the Infinite Word of the Guru's Shabad.
I recite continually the Guru's Shabads, which have been effective throughout the ages.
This mind ever abides in peace, dealing in peace and poise.
Deep within me is the Guru's Wisdom, the Lord's jewel, the Bringer of liberation.
O Nanak, one who is blessed by the Lord's Glance of Grace obtains this, and is judged to be True in the Court of the Lord. ||2||
Pauree:
Blessed, blessed is that Sikh of the Guru, who goes and falls at the Feet of the True Guru.
Blessed, blessed is that Sikh of the Guru, who with his mouth, utters the Name of the Lord.
Blessed, blessed is that Sikh of the Guru, whose mind, upon hearing the Lord's Name, becomes blissful.
Blessed, blessed is that Sikh of the Guru, who serves the True Guru, and so obtains the Lord's Name.
I bow forever in deepest respect to that Sikh of the Guru, who walks in the Way of the Guru. ||18||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਸਲੋਕ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
(ਪਰ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਤਨਾ ਹੀ) ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਧਾ ਕੇ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਖ਼ਾਸ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ) ।
ਜੇ ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਕਮਾਏ
ਸੱਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਖ ਉਪਜਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕੋਈ ਗੱਲ ਆਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੀਦੀ, ਜਿੱਧਰ ਆਪ ਹਰੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।
ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਸਾਡੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਰੂਪ) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਰੂਪ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ (ਮੌਜੂਦ) ਹੈ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਅਸਾਡੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਇਮ ਹੈ ।
(ਨਾਮ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਅਸੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ
ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ, ਜੋ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਵਰਤਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ।
(ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਡਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੁਤੇ ਹੀ (ਭਾਵ, ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਜਤਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ)
ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਵਾਪਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ) ਗਿਆਨ ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ (ਰੂਪ) ਰਤਨ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ) ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
ਪਉੜੀ।
ਉਸ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਜਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ
ਉਸ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ।
ਉਸ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਚਾਅ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੰੁਦਾ ਹੈ
ਉਸ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੱਭਾ ਹੈ ।
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਅਗੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧੮।
