ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ (Gurmukhi)
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
dhanaasaree mahalaa teejaa ||
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
har naam dhan niramal at apaaraa ||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
gur kai sabadh bhare bha(n)ddaaraa ||
ਨਾਮ ਧਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਬਿਖੁ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
naam dhan bin hor sabh bikh jaan ||
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਜਲੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
maiaa moh jalai abhimaan ||1||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
gurmukh har ras chaakhai koi ||
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tis sadhaa ana(n)dh hovai dhin raatee poorai bhaag paraapat hoi || rahaau ||
ਸਬਦੁ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਇ ॥
sabadh dheepak varatai tih loi ||
ਜੋ ਚਾਖੈ ਸੋ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
jo chaakhai so niramal hoi ||
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਇ ॥
niramal naam haumai mal dhoi ||
ਸਾਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
saachee bhagat sadhaa sukh hoi ||2||
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਲੋਗੁ ॥
jin har ras chaakhiaa so har jan log ||
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਦੇ ਸੋਗੁ ॥
tis sadhaa harakh naahee kadhe sog ||
ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਅਵਰਾ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥
aap mukat avaraa mukat karaavai ||
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
har naam japai har te sukh paavai ||3||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਭ ਮੁਈ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ ॥
bin satigur sabh muiee bilalai ||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਦਾਝਹਿ ਸਾਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
anadhin dhaajheh saat na pai ||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਭੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
satigur milai sabh tirasan bujhaae ||
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੨॥
naanak naam saa(n)t sukh paae ||4||2||
English Translation
Dhanaasaree, Third Mehla:
The wealth of the Lord's Name is immaculate, and absolutely infinite.
The Word of the Guru's Shabad is over-flowing with treasure.
Know that, except for the wealth of the Name, all other wealth is poison.
The egotistical people are burning in their attachment to Maya. ||1||
How rare is that Gurmukh who tastes the sublime essence of the Lord.
He is always in bliss, day and night; through perfect good destiny, he obtains the Name. ||Pause||
The Word of the Shabad is a lamp, illuminating the three worlds.
One who tastes it, becomes immaculate.
The immaculate Naam, the Name of the Lord, washes off the filth of ego.
True devotional worship brings lasting peace. ||2||
One who tastes the sublime essence of the Lord is the Lord's humble servant.
He is forever happy; he is never sad.
He himself is liberated, and he liberates others as well.
He chants the Lord's Name, and through the Lord, he finds peace. ||3||
Without the True Guru, everyone dies, crying out in pain.
Night and day, they burn, and find no peace.
But meeting the True Guru, all thirst is quenched.
O Nanak, through the Naam, one finds peace and tranquility. ||4||2||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਧਨ ਹੈ, ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਧਨ ਹੈ
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਸ ਧਨ ਦੇ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲਾ ਧਨ) ਸਾਰਾ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਸਮਝ (ਜੋ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)
(ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲਾ ਧਨ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ) ਪੂਰੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਦੀਵਾ (ਹੈ, ਜੋ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਧੋ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੱਖ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਗ਼ਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ ।
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪ (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਉਹ (ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸੁਖ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਈ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ
(ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ । (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ।
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
