ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ (Gurmukhi)
ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
jaitasaree mahalaa chauthhaa ||
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਰਾਹਾ ॥
mil satasa(n)gat sa(n)g guraahaa ||
ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਸਾਹਾ ॥
poo(n)jee naam gurmukh vesaahaa ||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
har har kirapaa dhaar madhusoodhan mil satasa(n)g oumaahaa raam ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਬਾਣੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਸੁਣਾਹਾ ॥
har gun baanee sravan sunaahaa ||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਹਾ ॥
kar kirapaa satiguroo milaahaa ||
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹ ਗੁਣ ਬੋਲਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਪਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
gun gaaveh gun boleh baanee har gun jap oumaahaa raam ||2||
ਸਭਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਵਰਤ ਜਗ ਪੁੰਨ ਤੋੁਲਾਹਾ ॥
sabh teerath varat jag pu(n)n tuolaahaa ||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਪੁਜਹਿ ਪੁਜਾਹਾ ॥
har har naam na pujeh pujaahaa ||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਤੋਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਪਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
har har atul tol at bhaaree gurmat jap oumaahaa raam ||3||
ਸਭਿ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਹਾ ॥
sabh karam dharam har naam japaahaa ||
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਮੈਲੁ ਪਾਪ ਧੋਵਾਹਾ ॥
kilavikh mail paap dhovaahaa ||
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਹੁ ਜਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਓਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੧॥

English Translation
JAITSREE, FOURTH MEHL:
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and associating with the Guru, the Gurmukh gathers in the merchandise of the Naam. O Lord, Har, Har, Destroyer of demons, have mercy upon me; bless me with a sincere yearning to join the Sat Sangat. || 1 ||
Let me hear with my ears the Banis, the Hymns, in praise of the Lord; be merciful, and let me meet the True Guru. I sing His Glorious Praises, I speak the Bani of His Word; chanting His Glorious Praises, a sincere yearning for the Lord wells up. || 2 ||
I have tried visiting all the sacred shrines of pilgrimage, fasting, ceremonial feasts and giving to charities. They do not measure up to the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. The Lord’s Name is unweighable, utterly heavy in weight; through the Guru’s Teachings, a sincere yearning to chant the Name has welled up in me. || 3 ||
All good karma and righteous living are found in meditation on the Lord’s Name. It washes away the stains of sins and mistakes. Be merciful to meek, humble Nanak; bless him with sincere love and yearning for the Lord. || 4 || 5 || 11 ||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਹੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ (ਕਿ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰੀਏ।੧।
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ (ਤਾਂ ਕਿ) ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਸੀ ਕੰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੀਏ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੀਏ, ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰੀਏ । ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ) ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰਥ (-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ), ਵਰਤ, ਜੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੰਨ (ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੇਕ ਕੰਮ) (ਇਕੱਠੇ ਰਲਾ ਕੇ) ਤੋਲੀਏ, ਇਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਅੱਪੜ ਸਕਦੇ । ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਤੋਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰਾ ਤੋਲ ਹੈ । ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਰ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ) ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ, ਦਾਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼, (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ) ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇਹ, ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੀਏ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ (ਮਿੱਥੇ ਹੋਏ) ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ, (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਧੁਪ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੪।੫।੧੧।
