ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
raamakalee mahalaa panjavaa ||
ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥
dharasan kau jaieeaai kurabaan ||
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਰਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
charan kamal hiradhai dhar dhiaan ||
ਧੂਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਾਇ ॥
dhoor sa(n)tan kee masatak lai ||
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਲੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
janam janam kee dhuramat mal jai ||1||
ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਮਿਟੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
jis bheTat miTai abhimaan ||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
gur kee bhagat sadhaa gun gaau ||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
gur kee surat nikaT kar jaan ||
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
gur kaa sabadh sat kar maan ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਦੂਖ ॥
gur bachanee samasar sukh dhookh ||
ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੂਖ ॥
kadhe na biaapai tirasanaa bhookh ||
ਮਨਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਜੇ ॥
man sa(n)tokh sabadh gur raaje ||
ਜਪਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਪੜਦੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਜੇ ॥੩॥
jap gobi(n)dh paRadhe sabh kaaje ||3||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥
gur paramesar gur govi(n)dh ||
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥
gur dhaataa dhiaal bakhasi(n)dh ||
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
gur charanee jaa kaa man laagaa ||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੩੬॥੪੭॥
naanak dhaas tis pooran bhaagaa ||4||36||47||
English Translation
RAAMKALEE, FIFTH MEHL:
Let yourself be a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. Focus your heart’s meditation on the Lord’s lotus feet. Apply the dust of the feet of the Saints to your forehead, and the filthy evil-mindedness of countless incarnations will be washed off. || 1 ||
Meeting Him, egotistical pride is eradicated, and you will come to see the Supreme Lord God in all. The Perfect Lord God has showered His Mercy. || 1 || Pause ||
This is the Guru’s Praise, to chant the Name of the Lord. This is devotion to the Guru, to sing forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord. This is contemplation upon the Guru, to know that the Lord is close at hand. Accept the Word of the Guru’s Shabad as Truth. || 2 ||
Through the Word of the Guru’s Teachings, look upon pleasure and pain as one and the same. Hunger and thirst shall never afflict you. The mind becomes content and satisfied through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. Meditate on the Lord of the Universe, and He will cover all your faults. || 3 ||
The Guru is the Supreme Lord God; the Guru is the Lord of the Universe. The Guru is the Great Giver, merciful and forgiving. One whose mind is attached to the Guru’s feet, O slave Nanak, is blessed with perfect destiny. || 4 || 36 || 47 ||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਧਰ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ (ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ) । (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਰ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ) ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ—ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ (ਕਰਨੀ) । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ—ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ! ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਜਾਣ—ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਸੱਚਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੰਨ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੁਖ ਦੁਖ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਜਾਪਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤਿ੍ਰਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ । ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਨ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੜਦੇ ਕੱਜੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।੩।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ । ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾਤਾਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੪।੩੬।੪੭।
