ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ (Gurmukhi)
ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
soohee mahalaa panjavaa ||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਚਨ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
a(n)mirat bachan saadh kee baanee ||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਜਪੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਤ ਰਸਨ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo jo japai tis kee gat hovai har har naam nit rasan bakhaanee ||1|| rahaau ||
ਕਲੀ ਕਾਲ ਕੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਕਲੇਸਾ ॥
kalee kaal ke miTe kalesaa ||
ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ॥੧॥
eko naam man meh paravesaa ||1||
ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਾਈ ॥
saadhoo dhoor mukh masatak laiee ||
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੨॥੩੧॥੩੭॥
naanak udhare har gur saranaiee ||2||31||37||
English Translation
Soohee, Fifth Mehla:
The Words, the Teachings of the Holy Saints, are Ambrosial Nectar.
Whoever meditates on the Lord's Name is emancipated; he chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, with his tongue. ||1||Pause||
The pains and sufferings of the Dark Age of Kali Yuga are eradicated,
when the One Name abides within the mind. ||1||
I apply the dust of the feet of the Holy to my face and forehead.
Nanak has been saved, in the Sanctuary of the Guru, the Lord. ||2||31||37||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਸੂਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉਚਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਚਨ ਹਨ
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਇਸ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ) ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ-ਭਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਮੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ) ਇਕ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਲਾ ਲਈ
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਗਏ ।੨।੩੧।੩੭।
