ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ (Gurmukhi)
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||
ਸੋਈ ਮਲੀਨੁ ਦੀਨੁ ਹੀਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਿਸਰਾਨਾ ॥
soiee maleen dheen heen jis prabh bisaraanaa ||
ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ ਨ ਬੂਝਈ ਆਪੁ ਗਨੈ ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
karanaihaar na boojhiee aap ganai bigaanaa ||1||
ਦੂਖੁ ਤਦੇ ਜਦਿ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਏ ॥
dhookh tadhe jadh veesarai sukh prabh chit aae ||
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sa(n)tan kai aana(n)dh eh nit har gun gaae ||1|| rahaau ||
ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਨੀਚਾ ਕਰੈ ਨੀਚ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪੈ ॥
uooche te neechaa karai neech khin meh thaapai ||
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪਰਤਾਪੈ ॥੨॥
keemat kahee na jaieeaai Thaakur parataapai ||2||
ਪੇਖਤ ਲੀਲਾ ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਚਲਨੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
pekhat leelaa ra(n)g roop chalanai dhin aaiaa ||
ਸੁਪਨੇ ਕਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਭਇਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
supane kaa supanaa bhiaa sa(n)g chaliaa kamaiaa ||3||
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
karan kaaran samarath prabh teree saranaiee ||
ਹਰਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਪੈ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੫੦॥
har dhinas rain naanak japai sadh sadh bal jaiee ||4||20||50||
English Translation
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
One who forgets God is filthy, poor and low.
The fool does not understand the Creator Lord; instead, he thinks that he himself is the doer. ||1||
Pain comes, when one forgets Him. Peace comes when one remembers God.
This is the way the Saints are in bliss - they continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
The high, He makes low, and the low, he elevates in an instant.
The value of the glory of our Lord and Master cannot be estimated. ||2||
While he gazes upon beautiful dramas and plays, the day of his departure dawns.
The dream becomes the dream, and his actions will go along with him. ||3||
God is All-powerful, the Cause of causes; I seek Your Sanctuary.
Day and night, Nanak meditates on the Lord; forever and ever he is a sacrifice. ||4||20||50||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੰਗਾਲ ਹੈ, ਨੀਚ ਹੈ ।
ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ (ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਹਸਤੀ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ।੧।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਿਆਂ (ਸਦਾ) ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉੱਚੇ (ਆਕੜਖਾਨ) ਤੋਂ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਨੀਵਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ।੨।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਖੇਲ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ (ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ) ਤੁਰਨ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਰੰਗ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਾਥ ਮੁੱਕਣਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਸਾਥ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਰਮ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੩।
ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ।
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਨਾਨਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੈਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੨੦।੫੦।
