ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
raamakalee mahalaa panjavaa ||
ਬੀਜ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਉ ॥
beej ma(n)tr har keeratan gaau ||
ਆਗੈ ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥
aagai milee nithaave thaau ||
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥
gur poore kee charanee laag ||
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਜਾਗੁ ॥੧॥
janam janam kaa soiaa jaag ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪਲਾ ॥
har har jaap japalaa ||
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਾਸੈ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur kirapaa te hiradhai vaasai bhaujal paar paralaa ||1|| rahaau ||
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨ ਅਟਲ ॥
naam nidhaan dhiaai man aTal ||
ਤਾ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਪਟਲ ॥
taa chhooTeh maiaa ke paTal ||
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਉ ॥
gur kaa sabadh a(n)mirat ras peeau ||
ਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
taa teraa hoi niramal jeeau ||2||
ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਤ ਸੋਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
sodhat sodhat sodh beechaaraa ||
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ॥
bin har bhagat nahee chhuTakaaraa ||
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
so har bhajan saadh kai sa(n)g ||
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੩॥
man tan raapai har kai ra(n)g ||3||
ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
chhodd siaanap bahu chaturaiee ||
ਮਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥
man bin har naavai jai na kaiee ||
ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਗੋੁਸਾਈ ॥
dhiaa dhaaree govidh guosaiee ||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੭॥
har har naanak Tek Tikaiee ||4||16||27||
English Translation
Raamkalee, Fifth Mehla:
Sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, and the Beej Mantra, the Seed Mantra.
Even the homeless find a home in the world hereafter.
Fall at the feet of the Perfect Guru;
you have slept for so many incarnations - wake up! ||1||
Chant the Chant of the Lord's Name, Har, Har.
By Guru's Grace, it shall be enshrined within your heart, and you shall cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||Pause||
Meditate on the eternal treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O mind,
and then, the screen of Maya shall be torn away.
Drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Guru's Shabad,
and then your soul shall be rendered immaculate and pure. ||2||
Searching, searching, searching, I have realized
that without devotional worship of the Lord, no one is saved.
So vibrate, and meditate on that Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy;
your mind and body shall be imbued with love for the Lord. ||3||
Renounce all your cleverness and trickery.
O mind, without the Lord's Name, there is no place of rest.
The Lord of the Universe, the Lord of the World, has taken pity on me.
Nanak seeks the protection and support of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||16||27||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ (ਦਾ ਗੀਤ) ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸੇ੍ਰਸ਼ਟ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ।
(ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਆਸਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ,
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ) ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਗ ਪਏਂਗਾ ।੧।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਿਆ,
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ,
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੇ ਪੜਦੇ ਪਾਟਣਗੇ ।
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਸ ਹੈ,
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ।੨।
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਅਸਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਟਾ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ।
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਭਗਤੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪੇ੍ਰਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
ਹੇ ਮਨ! (ਆਪਣੀ) ਸਿਆਣਪ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ ।
(ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਭੁਇਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਜੀਊਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ), ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਹ ਜਾਲਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ।
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੧੬।੧੭।
