ਗੋਂਡ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
go(n)dd mahalaa chauthhaa ||
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਦਾ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੀਤਲ ਮਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
har simarat sadhaa hoi ana(n)dh sukh a(n)tar saa(n)t seetal man apanaa ||
ਜੈਸੇ ਸਕਤਿ ਸੂਰੁ ਬਹੁ ਜਲਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਸਿ ਦੇਖੇ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਸਭ ਤਪਨਾ ॥੧॥
jaise sakat soor bahu jalataa gur sas dhekhe leh jai sabh tapanaa ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨਾ ॥
mere man anadhin dhiaai naam har japanaa ||
ਜਹਾ ਕਹਾ ਤੁਝੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਤੂ ਅਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jahaa kahaa tujh raakhai sabh Thaiee so aaisaa prabh sev sadhaa too apanaa ||1|| rahaau ||
ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨਾ ॥
jaa meh sabh nidhaan so har jap man mere gurmukh khoj lahahu har ratanaa ||
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਮਲਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਸਨਾ ॥੨॥
jin har dhiaaiaa tin har paiaa meraa suaamee tin ke charan malahu har dhasanaa ||2||
ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਣਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਓਹੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਭਇਓ ਬਡ ਬਡਨਾ ॥
sabadh pachhaan raam ras paavahu oh uootam sa(n)t bhio badd baddanaa ||
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਧਾਈ ਓਹੁ ਘਟੈ ਨ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੀ ਘਟਾਈ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਤਿਲਨਾ ॥੩॥
tis jan kee vaddiaaiee har aap vadhaiee oh ghaTai na kisai kee ghaTaiee ik til til tilanaa ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੋ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਇ ਨਿਤ ਕਰ ਜੁਰਨਾ ॥
jis te sukh paaveh man mere so sadhaa dhiaai nit kar juranaa ||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਿਤ ਬਸਹਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਚਰਨਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
jan naanak kau har dhaan ik dheejai nit baseh ridhai haree moh charanaa ||4||3||
English Translation
GOND, FOURTH MEHL:
Remembering the Lord in meditation, you shall find bliss and peace forever deep within, and your mind will become tranquil and cool. It is like the harsh sun of Maya, with its burning heat; seeing the moon, the Guru, its heat totally vanishes. || 1 ||
O my mind, night and day, meditate, and chant the Lord’s Name. Here and hereafter, He shall protect you, everywhere; serve such a God forever. || 1 || Pause ||
Meditate on the Lord, who contains all treasures, O my mind; as Gurmukh, search for the jewel, the Lord. Those who meditate on the Lord, find the Lord, my Lord and Master; I wash the feet of those slaves of the Lord. || 2 ||
One who realizes the Word of the Shabad, obtains the sublime essence of the Lord; such a Saint is lofty and sublime, the greatest of the great. The Lord Himself magnifies the glory of that humble servant. one can lessen or decrease that glory, not even a bit. || 3 ||
He shall give you peace, O my mind; meditate forever, every day on Him, with your palms pressed together. Please bless servant Nanak with this one gift, O Lord, that Your feet may dwell within my heart forever. || 4 || 3 ||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਠੰਢਾ-ਠਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਪਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ-ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਤਪਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।
ਹੇ—ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹੁ! ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਨ । ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਤਨ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਲੱਭ ਲੈ । ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਜੋੜਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ । ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਘੁੱਟਿਆ ਕਰ।੨।
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ । (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਅਜੇਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਵਧਾਈ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਘਟਾਇਆਂ ਉਹ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਇਕ ਤਿਲ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਘਟ ਸਕਦੀ।੩।
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ (ਪੂਰੀ ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ) ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ । ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਆਪਣੇ) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਖ਼ੈਰ ਪਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ।੪।੩।
