ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
kar kirapaa mere preetam suaamee netr dhekheh dharas teraa raam ||
ਲਾਖ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਦੇਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੁਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
laakh jihavaa dheh mere piaare mukh har aaraadhe meraa raam ||
ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਜਮ ਪੰਥੁ ਸਾਧੇ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
har aaraadhe jam pa(n)th saadhe dhookh na viaapai koiee ||
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਤ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਤ ਸੋਈ ॥
jal thal maheeal pooran suaamee jat dhekhaa tat soiee ||
ਭਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਠੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੇਰ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰਾ ॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥੧॥

ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਜਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਣੀਅਹਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
koT karan dheejeh prabh preetam har gun sune'eeh abinaasee raam ||
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਕਟੀਐ ਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
sun sun ih man niramal hovai kaTeeaai kaal kee faasee raam ||
ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਫਾਸੀ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਗਲ ਮੰਗਲ ਸੁਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
kaTeeaai jam faasee simar abinaasee sagal ma(n)gal sugiaanaa ||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥
har har jap japeeaai dhin raatee laagai sahaj dhiaanaa ||
ਕਲਮਲ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਸੀ ॥
kalamal dhukh jaare prabhoo chitaare man kee dhuramat naasee ||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਣੀਅਹਿ ਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੨॥

ਕਰੋੜਿ ਹਸਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਚਰਣ ਚਲਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਰਾਮ ॥

ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਵ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਚੜੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਤਾਰਗਿ ਰਾਮ ॥
bhav saagar naav har sevaa jo chaRai tis taarag raam ||
ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
bhavajal tariaa har har simariaa sagal manorath poore ||
ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਗਏ ਸੁਖ ਉਪਜੇ ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰੇ ॥
mahaa bikaar ge sukh upaje baaje anahadh toore ||
ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਅਪਾਰਗਿ ॥

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਮਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਚਲੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ॥੩॥

ਏਹੋ ਵਰੁ ਏਹਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
eho var ehaa vaddiaaiee ih dhan hoi vaddabhaagaa raam ||
ਏਹੋ ਰੰਗੁ ਏਹੋ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
eho ra(n)g eho ras bhogaa har charanee man laagaa raam ||
ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਚਰਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੇ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥
man laagaa charane prabh kee sarane karan kaaran gopaalaa ||
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
sabh kichh teraa too prabh meraa mere Thaakur dheen dhiaalaa ||
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗਾ ॥
moh niragun preetam sukh saagar sa(n)tasa(n)g man jaagaa ||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਨੑੀ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੬॥

English Translation
SOOHEE, FIFTH MEHL:
Be Merciful, O my Beloved Lord and Master, that I may behold the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan with my eyes. Please bless me, O my Beloved, with thousands of tongues, to worship and adore You with my mouth, O Lord. Worshipping the Lord in adoration, the Path of Death is overcome, and no pain or suffering will afflict you. The Lord and Master is pervading and permeating the water, the land and the sky; wherever I look, there He is. Doubt, attachment and corruption are gone. God is the nearest of the near. Please bless Nanak with Your Merciful Grace, O God, that his eyes may behold the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. || 1 ||
Please bless me, O Beloved God, with millions of ears, with which I may hear the Glorious Praises of the Imperishable Lord. Listening, listening to these, this mind becomes spotless and pure, and the noose of Death is cut. The noose of Death is cut, meditating on the Imperishable Lord, and all happiness and wisdom are obtained. Chant, and meditate, day and night, on the Lord, Har, Har. Focus your meditation on the Celestial Lord. The painful residues of sinful mistakes are burnt away, by keeping God in one’s thoughts; evil-mindedness is erased. Says Nanak, O God, please be Merciful to me, that I may listen to Your Glorious Praises, O Imperishable Lord. || 2 ||
Please give me millions of hands to serve You, God, and let my feet walk on Your Path. Service to the Lord is the boat to carry us across the terrifying world-ocean. So cross over the terrifying world-ocean, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, Har, Har; all wishes shall be fulfilled. Even the worst corruption is taken away; peace wells up, and the unstruck celestial harmony vibrates and resounds. All the fruits of the mind’s desires are obtained; His creative power is infinitely valuable. Says Nanak, please be Merciful to me, God, that my mind may follow Your Path forever. || 3 ||
This opportunity, this glorious greatness, this blessing and wealth, come by great good fortune. These pleasures, these delightful enjoyments, come when my mind is attached to the Lord’s Feet. My mind is attached to God’s Feet; I seek His Sanctuary. He is the Creator, the Cause of causes, the Cherisher of the world. Everything is Yours; You are my God, O my Lord and Master, Merciful to the meek. I am worthless, O my Beloved, ocean of peace. In the Saints’ Congregation, my mind is awakened. Says Nanak, God has been Merciful to me; my mind is attached to His Lotus Feet. || 4 || 3 || 6 ||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ । ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਖ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਦੇਹ (ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ । ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹੇ । (ਮੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ) ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹੇ, (ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ) ਜਮਰਾਜ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਦੁੱਖ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ) ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਹ ਪਾ ਸਕੇ । ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ ਜਿੱਧਰ ਵੇਖਾਂ ਉਧਰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਰੂਪ ਦਿੱਸੇ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਮ, ਸਾਰੇ ਮੋਹ, ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਤੋਂ ਨੇੜੇ ਦਿੱਸਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਆਂ) ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ।੧।
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਰੀ! (ਜੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਕੋ੍ਰੜਾਂ ਕੰਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ, ਤਾਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਣੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ) ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਜਮ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ । ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਨ ਦੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਸੁਣੇ ਜਾਣ।੨।
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕੋ੍ਰੜਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਤੇਰੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋ੍ਰੜਾਂ) ਪੈਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ (ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਲਈ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਬੇੜੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜੀਵ (ਇਸ ਬੇੜੀ ਵਿਚ) ਸਵਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ । (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ । (ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ । (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਭੀ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ।੩।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦੀ ਸਰਨੀਂ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਧਨ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਭੋਗਣਾ । ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹਰੇਕ ਦਾਤਿ (ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! (ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਦੋਂ) ਤੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਾਂ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।੪।੩।੬।
