ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
soohee mahalaa panjavaa ||
ਬਹਤੀ ਜਾਤ ਕਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਧਾਰਤ ॥
bahatee jaat kadhe dhirasaT na dhaarat ||
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੋਹ ਬੰਧਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਪਾਰਚ ॥੧॥
mithiaa moh ba(n)dheh nit paarach ||1||
ਮਾਧਵੇ ਭਜੁ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਤ ਰੈਣੀ ॥
maadhave bhaj dhin nit rainee ||
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janam padhaarath jeet har saranee ||1|| rahaau ||
ਕਰਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਦੋਊ ਕਰ ਝਾਰਤ ॥ ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਰਿਦ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਧਾਰਤ ॥੨॥
karat bikaar dhouoo kar jhaarat || raam ratan ridh til nahee dhaarat ||2||
ਭਰਣ ਪੋਖਣ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਉਧ ਬਿਹਾਣੀ ॥
bharan pokhan sa(n)g aaudh bihaanee ||
ਜੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
jai jagadhees kee gat nahee jaanee ||3||
ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
saran samarath agochar suaamee ||
ਉਧਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੩੩॥
audhar naanak prabh a(n)tarajaamee ||4||27||33||
English Translation
Soohee, Fifth Mehla:
Your life is slipping away, but you never even notice.
You are constantly entangled in false attachments and conflicts. ||1||
Meditate, vibrate constantly, day and night, on the Lord.
You shall be victorious in this priceless human life, in the Protection of the Lord's Sanctuary. ||1||Pause||
You eagerly commit sins and practice corruption, but you do not enshrine the jewel of the Lord's Name within your heart, even for an instant. ||2||
Feeding and pampering your body, your life is passing away,
but you do not experience the state of victory of the Lord of the Universe. ||3||
So enter the Sanctuary of the All-powerful, Unfathomable Lord and Master.
O God, O Searcher of hearts, please, save Nanak! ||4||27||33||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਸੂਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੀ ਨਦੀ) ਵਹਿੰਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਇਧਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ।
ਤੰੂ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਨ੍ਹਣੂ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ ।
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟ ਲੈ ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਹਾਣ ਲਾਭ ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਰੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰਤਨ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ) ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸਣ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਲੰਘਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ।
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੂੰ (ਹੁਣ ਤਕ) ਸਮਝੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ।੩।
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਗਿਆਨ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ!
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।੪।੨੭।੩੩।
