ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ੫ ॥
dhevaga(n)dhaaree 5 ||
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੇਰੈ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰੈ ॥
so prabh nerai hoo te nerai ||
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਝ ਸਵੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
simar dhiaai gai gun gobi(n)dh dhin rain saajh saverai ||1|| rahaau ||
ਉਧਰੁ ਦੇਹ ਦੁਲਭ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੇਰੈ ॥
audhar dheh dhulabh saadhoo sa(n)g har har naam japerai ||
ਘਰੀ ਨ ਮੁਹਤੁ ਨ ਚਸਾ ਬਿਲੰਬਹੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਨਿਤਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਹੇਰੈ ॥੧॥
gharee na muhat na chasaa bila(n)bahu kaal niteh nit herai ||1||
ਅੰਧ ਬਿਲਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਹੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਿਆ ਨਾਹੀ ਘਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ॥
a(n)dh bilaa te kaaddahu karate kiaa naahee ghar terai ||
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਆਨਦ ਸੂਖ ਘਨੇਰੈ ॥੨॥੧੨॥
naam adhaar dheejai naanak kau aanadh sookh ghanerai ||2||12||
English Translation
DAYV-GANDHAAREE, FIFTH MEHL:
God is the nearest of the near. Remember Him, meditate on Him, and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, day and night, evening and morning. || 1 || Pause ||
Redeem your body in the invaluable Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. Do not delay for an instant, even for a moment. Death is keeping you constantly in his vision. || 1 ||
Lift me up out of the dark dungeon, O Creator Lord; what is there which is not in Your home? Bless Nanak with the Support of Your Name, that he may find great happiness and peace. || 2 ||

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਸਵੇਰੇ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ । ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਤੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ ਜੋ ਬੜੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੌਤ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ (ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ) ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਢਿੱਲ ਨਾਹ ਕਰ, ਅੱਧੀ ਘੜੀ ਭੀ ਦੇਰ ਨਾਹ ਕਰ, ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਢਿੱਲ ਨਾਹ ਕਰ।੧।
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ) ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਖੁੱਡ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ । ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ-ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇਹ, ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਨ।੨।
