ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰੇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
gireh sobhaa jaa kai re naeh ||
ਆਵਤ ਪਹੀਆ ਖੂਧੇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
aavat paheeaa khoodhe jaeh ||
ਵਾ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ॥
vaa kai a(n)tar nahee sa(n)tokh ||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਦੋਖੁ ॥੧॥
bin sohaagan laagai dhokh ||1||
ਧਨੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਮਹਾ ਪਵੀਤ ॥ ਤਪੇ ਤਪੀਸਰ ਡੋਲੈ ਚੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਕਿਰਪਨ ਕੀ ਪੂਤੀ ॥
sohaagan kirapan kee pootee ||
ਸੇਵਕ ਤਜਿ ਜਗਤ ਸਿਉ ਸੂਤੀ ॥
sevak taj jagat siau sootee ||
ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਠਾਢੀ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥
saadhoo kai Thaaddee dharabaar ||
ਸਰਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
saran teree mo kau nisataar ||2||
ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ॥
sohaagan hai at su(n)dharee ||
ਪਗ ਨੇਵਰ ਛਨਕ ਛਨਹਰੀ ॥
pag nevar chhanak chhanaharee ||
ਜਉ ਲਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਤਊ ਲਗੁ ਸੰਗੇ ॥
jau lag praan tuoo lag sa(n)ge ||
ਨਾਹਿ ਤ ਚਲੀ ਬੇਗਿ ਉਠਿ ਨੰਗੇ ॥੩॥

ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਭਵਨ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੀਆ ॥

ਦਸ ਅਠ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਤੀਰਥ ਰਸ ਕੀਆ ॥

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸਰ ਬੇਧੇ ॥
brahamaa bisan mahesar bedhe ||
ਬਡੇ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੈ ਛੇਧੇ ॥੪॥
badde bhoopat raaje hai chhedhe ||4||
ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰਿ ॥

ਪਾਂਚ ਨਾਰਦ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਿਧਵਾਰਿ ॥
paa(n)ch naaradh kai sa(n)g bidhavaar ||
ਪਾਂਚ ਨਾਰਦ ਕੇ ਮਿਟਵੇ ਫੂਟੇ ॥

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਛੂਟੇ ॥੫॥੫॥੮॥

English Translation
GOND:
When someone’s household has no glory, the guests who come there depart still hungry. Deep within, there is no contentment. Without his bride, the wealth of Maya, he suffers in pain. || 1 ||
So praise this bride, which can shake the consciousness of even the most dedicated ascetics and sages. || 1 || Pause ||
This bride is the daughter of a wretched miser. Abandoning the Lord’s servant, she sleeps with the world. Standing at the door of the holy man, she says, “I have come to your sanctuary; now save me!” || 2 ||
This bride is so beautiful. The bells on her ankles make soft music. As long as there is the breath of life in the man, she remains attached to him. But when it is no more, she quickly gets up and departs, bare-footed. || 3 ||
This bride has conquered the three worlds. The eighteen Puraanas and the sacred shrines of pilgrimage love her as well. She pierced the hearts of Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu. She destroyed the great emperors and kings of the world. || 4 ||
This bride has no restraint or limits. She is in collusion with the five thieving passions. When the clay pot of these five passions bursts, then, says Kabeer, by Guru’s Mercy, one is released. || 5 || 5 || 8 ||
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (Punjabi Explanation)
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਘਰ ਦੀ ਸੁਹੱਪਣ) ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਘਰ ਆਏ ਪਾਂਧੀ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਧਰਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ । ਸੋ, ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਿਲਾ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।
ਸਦਾ ਖਸਮ-ਵਤੀ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, (ਇਹ ਮਾੜੀ ਨਹੀਂ) ਬੜੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤਪੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ (ਭੀ) ਡੋਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਬਾਹ ਲਈ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਹ ਮਿਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਤਪੀ ਭੀ ਘਾਬਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਸ਼ੂਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਭਾਵ, ਸ਼ੂਮ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਹੀ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਰਤਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ । ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਖਲੋਤੀ (ਪੁਕਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆਈ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।੨।
ਮਾਇਆ ਬੜੀ ਸੁਹਣੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਝਾਂਜਰਾਂ ਛਣ-ਛਣ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ । (ਉਂਞ) ਜਦ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਿੰਦ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਤਕ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਿੰਦ ਨਿਕਲਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ) ਇਹ ਭੀ ਨੰਗੀ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਉੱਠ ਭੱਜਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।੩।
ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਮੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ (ਵਰਗੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ) ਇਸ ਨੇ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਰੱਖੇ ਹਨ, ਸਭ ਰਾਜੇ ਰਾਣੇ ਭੀ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਨਕੇਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।੪।
ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਸਾਰੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ; ਪੰਜਾਂ ਹੀ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਲੀ-ਮਿਲੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ । ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! ਤੂੰ ਆਖ—ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ (ਦੀ ਮਾਰ) ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਹੀ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ)।੫।੫।੮।
